journal week 5

This week I was not in a very good mood. I felt every of my classmates have better English skills than me. I felt a little bit loose, but I am still trying to catch up. I take a small note book with me every day, and write down all the new words I got in class. To be honest, lots of them. Then , when I got home I read through them and try to remember.

The most difficult part for me is the different study style between China and Australia . This is the first time I try individual study this much. In China everything is unlike here in many ways:

First of all we even do not have to review what we are going to study the next day.

Secondly, we have more than 5 different subject for one day’s class, each class only 40min.

The third is, the teacher told us what he or she going to teach us in class, we take notes then review at home, do not have to do research.

Last different is , when we write our essay , we do not have to do a bibliography, just give our resource at the end of the essay. Sure it is easily lead to plagiarize,.

Because I did not practice before so I have no concept how to do my home work in this course. At first I even got angry with myself , but latter I found that was a wrong attitude when I facing difficulties, so I decided to raise my spirits. I am here to learn , nobody can do things well at the first time.

Although, I still feeling a little bit hard, but I am getting there now.

journal week 4

I went to Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. I had heard about this parade long before I came to Sydney. Therefore, my friends and I decided to have a look.
The parade really deserved its reputation. Every body is dressed up, beautiful costumes, wonderful preferment’s! Some of then even travel half the world just to attend this celebration to support them.

Before I went to see the parade , I did not know about different attitude of homosexual in different countries. I thought, USA must be more lenient in this , but the truth is not. Today, I read a report on line. It said the United States has refused to sign a declaration presented 18 Dec 2008 at the United Nations calling for worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality. And only 66 countries out of 192 U.N.’s members has signed this agreement. Up to 77 countries outlaw homosexuality. In some nations homosexuals can be punished by execution. Fortunately all 27 European Union members has signed this declaration.
People say:Australia is a country of freedom! Sure it is.

In China people from different generations have different opinions. The vast majority of young people do not discriminate homosexual and some of them actually hope to have a friend who like the same sex. I have some friends who are gay and lesbian too. I do not feel they are different , except that they are all very good people, even better than some normal ones.

But the middle ages might have different attitude. They teach their children not to be friends with these unusually kids. They thought the homo people are all not good people. That is really unfair! If they can get some more caring from the community they will prove they could also be extraordinary people.

I am a buddhist, when our master told us about metempsychosis he said why some people find they like same sex. This person might have been another gender in their former life. When they come to the world again their spirit still have some memory about former life’s gender, so they become a homosexual this life. When they fell in love with someone this person might be his or her partner last life.

I will just support them as usual. They also have the right to find their happily ever after.

journal week 2

My father and I went to a seminar this week, which was talking about how to encourage and cheer up ourselves. I learned a lot from this seminar.

The presenter taught us how to release our fear and pressure to clear all the obstruction on our way to achieve our aim as well.

We are all jest human beings, a majority of us are more likely to stay in our comfort zone , living a simple life, comfortable and also safe. However, if someone wants to fulfil his dream , life needs to be made defences have to step out of his comfort zone, forcing himself to do something to help him to achieve his aim , something he has to but maybe does not want to do.

I have been thinking about myself after the seminar . Before ,when I was a kid, I thinking about hanging out with my friends all the time, I did not really want to study. Playing seems fascinated me more. That is also the reason why I was not a good student during that time. Latter one day I realized if I still do that, my further my dream will be in the mist. So since then I started to working hard on my study. After 2 years I finally got into a very good university and started my designer course. From that time I knew if I want a dream come true I would to work hard on it , with motivation and determination ,just like get out of my comfort zone.
